Concerts: The Good Life

Just so you'd know I am the girl with the blue shirt on with her arms up, yep I am truly feeling the music.

It's been a while I know. What have I been doing, well Lady Grace has been going out to concerts. Just recently I went to see Goapele perform at the Black Cat here in DC. She has such a unique voice. Man, she was rocking this awesome outfit. I really couldn't concentrate, because all I kept thinking was "Where did she get that?" Before Goapele, I got a chance to see Malcolm Jamal Warner (yeah Theo from the Cosby show, malcolmjamalwarner.com ) perform at Mirrors. He is actually very good. Mr. Warner plays the bass guitar, and does poetry. He has this awesome piece called Sprung. He said he wrote it during the time he was in a long distance relationship, and he was really missing his sweet thing. Well after you listen to Sprung I think you'll get the message. All in all the concert was amazing!!!! I am extremely impressed. I got a chance to purchase the CD and get it autographed, too. He is a down to earth person.

This weekend I am going to see W. Ellington Felton perform at the Black Cat (I swear Black Cat has the hottest events!). I saw him open up for Eric Roberson, and the brother is the truth. He has great talent. He has this song on his album, Postcards from the Edge called Dear Kanye; he definitely lights Kanye up, want to know more...then go out and buy the cd http://www.myspace.com/wellingtonfelton. The following weekend Bilal Salaam ( http://www.myspace.com/bsalaam) is performing at Bar Nun, can't wait. This young man has an excellent, excellent voice. His voice is so light and strong at the same time; it's calming. The brother can blow. I just love experiencing truly good music!!!
