A New Beginning
Hello all. Sorry for my long absence. What has been going on with me? Well I have now moved from DC and am back in Savannah, GA. I am not the same Lady Grace, I am now a woman. I know it sounds funny but it's true. I feel my womanhood. It's amazingly awesome!!! Do I miss DC? Yes I do. I miss the whole hustle and bustle of it all; I miss taking the metro, and I miss the sounds of different languages on U Street. Am I happy to be in Savannah, GA? Yes, because I have the opportunity to create some great things down here. Happiness is a part of self, you can be happy where ever you are, just as long as though you are happy with you. This is something that I have recently learned. It's so simple, yet so hard to come by.
The one thing I do miss about DC is being able to go to different concerts; however, I must say that I have not missed a beat since I have been down in Savannah. I got to see two great shows one by Ken J. Martin (www.myspace.com/kjmartin06) an awesome singer, songwriter and guitarist. He came and performed at Spoken Word Wednesday at Club Tropicana. His voice is full of soul, emotion and passion. He's out of ATL, he's a great talent that just makes you wonder why isn't he on the radio when some many other bogus artists are (did I say that?)
The other performance I saw was John Doe a local band here in Savannah, GA they play every Friday at the Island Breeze lounge. They sing original songs and do some cover tunes. The musicians in the band are truly talented. Unfortunately I don't have any website information on them.
I guess that's why it is good to never leave any rock unturned when you are looking for great music.
Coming up: On Wednesday August 17, 2006 at Spoken Word Wednesday talented Spoken Word artist Fhena (www.myspace.com/fhena) will bless the mic. I have experienced one of her performances before; she is definitely someone that truly connects with the audience. A must see!!! Then on Sunday August 27, 2006 Anthony David will be down to perform at the Sentient Bean. Anthony is Georgia grown with Georgia talent. His music takes you back to the time when music was really good. Those of you 25 and up know what I am talking about. I can't wait for the shows.
